Skinnamarink was one of the first songs I sang to my son, though for the life of me I couldn’t remember where I’d learned it. I finally Googled the song and discovered that a) it’s a traditional folk song, and that b) I probably learned it from Sharon Lois & Bram’s Elephant Show. Did you watch this show as a kid?
Now that I see this video I have a vague recollection of watching the show at my grandmother’s house and thinking that the song made me happy. I love how it has little movements to accompany the lyrics. Great for making babies smile and getting toddlers to practice movement and rhythm.
Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky do,
I love you!Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky do,
I love you!I love you in the morning,
And in the afternoon
I love you in the evening,
Underneath the moon…Skinnamarinky dinky dink
Skinnamarinky do,
I love you!

Yep! Definitely watch Sharon, Lois, and Bram! We loved it.
Ah, memories! Making new ones now. :)
I think my earliest memories of TV are this show and Shari Lewis. The simple songs are always the best.
