Song of the Week: The Animal Sounds Song

After a week of everyone in our household (including myself) being sick with a cold I’m back with a new song!

“The Animal Sounds Song” is a simple tune that reinforces the noises different animals make. The song is so easy, in fact, that you don’t even need the lyrics. Instead I’ve listed the order in which animals are mentioned. My favorite “animal” is the people who go “blah blah blah.” I couldn’t help but find that funny.

Our 20-month-old knows a lot of animal sounds so he enjoys “singing along” with this one. I sometimes add different animals in there just to mix things up and keep him on his toes. I’ve included some suggestions below and would love to hear yours. :)

The Animal Sounds Song

Below is the order in which each animal is mentioned in this song, followed by the chorus and the next set of animals. Each animal is introduced with “the [insert animal here] goes [make sound here].” For instance, “The dog goes woof, woof, woof, woof…”

Dog
Cow
Duck
Owl
Cat
Bird
Pig
Little Mouse

These are the sounds that the animals make. These are the sounds, that the animals make.

Horse
Sheep
Rabbit
People
Snake
Chicken
Frog
Bee

These are the sounds that the animals make. These are the sounds, that the animals make.

Donkey
Elephant
Bear
Lion

These are the sounds that the animals make. These are the sounds, that the animals make. x 2

Other animal possibilities:

  • Turkey goes gobble
  • Zebra goes neigh
  • Tiger goes rawr
  • Fish goes splash
  • Wolf goes howl
  • Goat goes meh

Oh gosh I have no idea! I don’t know how to play guitar. Maybe try contacting the folks who made the video? Their info is on YouTube. Good luck!
